The Civil Registry and Migration Department, which is a Department of the Ministry of the Interior, is responsible for a wide range of issues. Especially after the accession of Cyprus to the European Union, the role and mission of the Department expanded significantly.
Today, the Department is responsible for various issues concerning the daily life of our fellow Cypriots and of foreign citizens residing in Cyprus. At the same time, the Department is one of the main sources of information for all government authorities and the basis on which most policies and strategies related to the prosperity, stability, and economic growth of the country are based, such as the demographic and immigration policy, the development, employment, investment, health, and education policies.
For these reasons, the role of the Department is crucial both for the well-being of society as a whole and for the effective functioning of the state. Recognizing this role, we work every day and evolve by improving and tackling the problems and weaknesses we identify.
Our mission is to provide quality services to the public, within the framework of optimal management of public resources, good governance, and legality.
Our vision is to evolve into a more modern organization, utilizing the possibilities and opportunities of information technology, in order to offer services of higher quality to citizens.
